Mamiit, Huey shine in Davis Cup

Filipino-American Cecil Mamiit came away with straight-set victory over Yu Hiu Tung of Hong Kong,7-6 (2), 6-1, 6-1, and teamed up with Treat Conrad Huey in the men’s doubles to establish a 2-1 lead over Hong Kong in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone Group II tie at the Victoria Park in the former Crown Colony.

Mamiit, the 32-year-old Southeast Asian Games back-to-back champion, already took the first set when the match was suspended Friday.
